We believe in making it happen for all beyond borders. We are contributing to the sustainability of heritage artisan skills, especially vulnerable women, while producing modern and functional handcrafted products.
This ancient art of cotton towel and textile weaving-with signature handmade trim finish-dates back to 1853. Traditionally, each piece is uniquely designed by one women, just like a painting; but due to the Syrian refugees' plight-especially in Lebanon, this traditional craft of hand-woven towels on large wooden looms using organic cotton was almost extinct.
As a socio-cultural enterprise we supported these vulnerable artisanal women, and ensured the preservations of their traditional looms. And, as they have very small opportunities for regional and/or international exposure, we help them in marketing and sales.
We believe our endeavors are quite essential and vital in the contexts of the on-going plight of refugees, and of the disappearnce of many traditional artisanal skills due to poverty and displacement.
